The organizers of the 47th Vladimir Herzog Amnesty and Human Rights Journalistic Award announced the finalists of the 2025 edition. This year, 469 productions were registered in the categories of Arts, Photography, Writing, Video, Audio, Multimedia, and Reportage-book.
50 years after the murder of Vladimir Herzog, the award established the Additional Category – Defense of Democracy, meant for works that highlight the importance of freedom and citizenly participation.
The winners of the seven traditional categories and the new award will be known on October 7, in a public session broadcast live on the Award’s YouTube channel, from 02:00 p.m. to 06:00 p.m. The award-giving ceremony is scheduled for October 2017, at Tucarena (PUC-SP), in São Paulo.
Created in 1979, the Herzog Award pays tribute to the journalist that names the award, tortured and murdered by the dictatorship in 1975 and consolidated as one of the main references in the appreciation of the press and human rights in Brazil.
