“There is an intersection between racial and environmental injustice that envelopes the lives of black and indigenous Brazilians, who are sometimes part of the poorest population in the country”, says Julia Neiva, coordinator of the Program for the Defense of Social and Environmental Rights at Conectas, and Gabriel Mantelli, an advisor on the same program, in an opinion article published in the newspaper El Pais Brasil.
