There is also a need to understand the deprivation of liberty in different aspects, including juvenile detention centers and security measures used, as well as similar institutions such as therapeutic communities. Furthermore, it is crucial to block the advancement of penal punitivism in the legislative and justice system, promoting alternatives that prioritize rehabilitation and fundamental rights.

The control of security forces is vital for the protection of human rights. Restricting the use of technology for social control is an essential measure to prevent abuse and to safeguard the privacy of the population. Strengthening mechanisms for external oversight of security forces ensures greater transparency and accountability in the actions of the State and its police. Finally, promoting policies of memory and reparation for victims of state violence and their families during the democratic period is a crucial step toward building a more just and inclusive society.

Access to abortion is an important issue in the fight for reproductive rights and individual autonomy. Ensuring the right to legal abortion in cases permitted by Brazilian law is crucial in guaranteeing that everyone has access to safe and dignified services that protect health and well-being, especially in the cases of Black and low-income individuals. Furthermore, promoting the decriminalization of abortion is essential in order to eliminate stigmas and ensure that decisions about one’s own life and body are respected, allowing women and pregnant individuals to fully exercise their rights without facing criminalization.
