The research sought to identify how reports of torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment appeared in custody hearings, as well as the reaction and procedures adopted by each of the institutions (Judiciary, Public Prosecutor’s Office, Public Defender’s Office and Medical-Legal Institute) presented the purpose of analyzing the effectiveness of the new procedure in combating and preventing such practices.
