Civil society organizations presented a report to the UN on September 22 on the negative impacts of the possible reduction of the age of criminal responsibility in Brazil on children’s rights.
The document was submitted by Anced (National Association of Centers for the Defense of Children and Adolescents) just as Brazil was being reviewed by the United Nations committee specializing in childhood issues.
Brazil’s current fiscal adjustment, privatization of education, militarization of public schools and setbacks in the promotion of gender equality in municipal and state education plans were other issues highlighted in the report.
