UN Human Rights Council: Review 2011

Conectas requests that the special procedures be strengthened and that the review process be made participative and transparent

In 2011, the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), created in 2006, will pass through a review of its operations and work methods.

 

 

In that context, together with other human rights organizations, Conectas publicly declared the need for strengthening the special procedures and making the review process participative and transparent.

 

According to Lucia Nader, international relations coordinator of Conectas “five years alter the creation of the HRC, it is important to evaluate what has been working well and what needs to be perfected so that the organ may really fulfill its mandate”.
