Sur Magazine (Revista Sur) offers writing grants to blacks and indigenous people

Essays on Human Rights by selected people will make up the 31st edition of the international publication



Black/indigenous researchers and activists have until 3rd of September to apply for writing grants from Conectas. This is an opportunity to have their work, research or Project published in the 31st edition of Sur – International Journal on Human Rights, in November of 2021. See more details of the News here.

Each scholarship will have a gross value of R$5,000.00 — paid in three monthly installments, from September to November 2021. In addition to the grants, the selected people will also receive mentoring from Dr. Vera Rodrigues (UNILAB/ABPN) while the writing is ongoing.

The 31st edition of Sur – International Journal on Human Rights has as its main theme, Human Rights during pandemic and proposes a debate encompassing three relevant themes for the current moment: “The Covid-19 pandemic and its impacts on human rights”; “Native groups, climate and the environment rights”; and “Surveillance and security”.

Revista Sur is an international publication with free access to online and print audience of over 20 thousand people, in more than 100 countries. The purpose of the publication is to influence the global human rights agenda by producing, promoting and disseminating innovative research and ideas, mainly from the Global South, in the practice of human rights.
