The global launch of #SUR19 will have its third and penultimate stage in São Paulo, on July 3. Just like at the two previous events, in South Africa and Switzerland, experts in Foreign Policy and Human Rights, the theme of the issue, will be gathered for open debates with the public.
“The debate on foreign policy and human rights is now a central concern not only for Conectas, but also for numerous human rights organizations, universities and other centers of action and knowledge production in the Global South,” said Camila Asano, coordinator of Foreign Policy and Human Rights at Conectas, who penned an article and conducted an interview for the issue. “By launching the physical version of the journal in different countries, we want to bring the various parts of this mosaic closer together, offering insight for work, and also learning from the different experiences.”
Camila will share the debate panel with Reginaldo Nasser, professor of international relations at the Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), and Patrícia Campos Mello, a reporter for the Folha de São Paulo newspaper. The event will take place at 7 pm in the auditorium of the Martins Fontes bookstore (Av. Paulista, 509). Registration is not necessary.
All the content of #SUR19 is available on the journal’s new website and in the printed version. SUR Journal has been edited and published by Conectas for 10 years, in three languages, and is distributed in more than 100 countries. All the 18 previous issues can also be viewed online.
