An event will take place on Monday (13) from 7pm to 8.30pm on “Human rights and socioenvironmental sustainability: challenges for environmental and indigenous defenders and social organisations”. It will be hosted by FBOMS (the Brazilian Forum for NGOs and Social Movements for the Environment and Development). The broadcast can be seen via this link.
With International Human Rights Day, celebrated on Friday (10) in mind, the event will include reflection and dialogue on the current challenges in ensuring rights and dignified coexistence between people and the environment.
Participating in the debate are: Júlia Neiva (Conectas), Ivaneide Bandeira (Association for Kanindé Ethno-environmental Defence) and Rubens Born (Vitae Civilis), moderation will be by Caetano Scannavino (PSA).
“The objective of this meeting is to highlight and discuss the main challenges in ensuring human rights related to the environment, indigenous peoples and traditional communities and the work of social organisations in terms of democracy and sustainability”, say the organisers.
