Conectas is a frontrunner in the Innovare Award with human rights litigation practices

Conectas is in the running for the Justice and Citizenship award with its initiative to strengthen rights defense

Conectas Direitos Humanos is the finalist of the 22nd edition of the Innovare Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the country’s legal area, acknowledging innovative practices for the improvement of Justice. The organization is running in the Justice and Citizenship category with the practice “Strategic Human Rights Litigation” alongside 11 other finalists in different categories.

The practice highlights the use of the legal system as an instrument to affirm fundamental rights, prevent violations, and generate precedents with structural impact, particularly in the defense of vulnerable populations. The work involves lawsuits before multiple courts, training in strategic litigation, and the strengthening of networks and partnerships with social movements and directly affected communities – assuring social legitimacy and real impact in people’s lives. One may check some cases that Conectas monitors in court at this link.

The award ceremony will be held on December 3rd, at 11:00 a.m., at the White Hall of the Federal Supreme Court (STF, acronym in Portuguese), in Brasília. In this edition, Innovare received 702 practices registered, visited, and analyzed by Innovare and DataFolha consultants. All deferred practices will be included, in the first semester of 2026, in the Practice Bank available at the official website of the award.

Created in 2004, the Innovare Award is an initiative by the Innovare Institute, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the Federal Attorney General’s Office, and entities in the Justice system, with support from the Globo group. The award attempts to appreciate and disseminate innovative solutions that contribute to a more efficient, democratic, and accessible justice.
