Conectas was cited in the latest edition of the annual report on the world’s most influential think tanks (Global Go To Think Tank Index), compiled by the International Relations Program of the University of Pennsylvania (Upenn).

The organization, founded 12 years ago in São Paulo, features in 40th position overall and in 2nd place among the institutions from the BRICS countries (Brazil, India, China, Russia and South Africa), behind only Fanrpan (Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network), from South Africa.

According to the methodology adopted by UPenn, Brazil ranks 13th on the list of countries with the largest number of think tanks (81), appearing behind all the BRICS countries and even Argentina (137).

“For us, this is an important recognition. We believe that research and the production of knowledge are important tools for action in human rights,” said Lucia Nader, executive director of Conectas.
