Who commits crimes is also protected by human rights?

Every citizen is protected by human rights. The right to protection and dignity do not cease when a person commits a crime. And the validity of these rights does not preclude the functioning of justice. However, we strive to show that crime is a social phenomenon and inherent in societies throughout its history. The need to analyse this fact in depth is central to the formulation of public policies aimed at preventing crimes, without disregarding human dignity. It is necessary to understand that the punitive discourse refers only to the legal (penal) aspect of the thought, and ignores the sociological, psychological, criminological and political perspectives, fundamental for understanding such complex phenomena.
