Since 2009, the Organizing Committee of the Vladimir Herzog Award has named prominent figures to receive the Special Award for their outstanding service to the causes of democracy, peace and justice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Round Table Conversation\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 350px; height: 234px; border-width: 1px; border-style: solid; float: left;\" title=\"Photo: Fernanda Freixosa\" src=\"\/arquivos\/editor\/images\/FEF_5169.jpg\" alt=\"\" longdesc=\"The winning journalists will talk about the stories behind their award-winning work in a Round Table Conversation, at 2 pm.\" \/>Between 2 pm and 6 pm on the same day, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1824590671149552\/1825198734422079\/?notif_t=admin_plan_mall_activity&amp;notif_id=1477074410831772\">5th Round Table Conversation<\/a> will be held with the winners of the 38th Vladimir Herzog Award, also in the Tucarena theater. This event, which is free and open to the public, is designed primarily for students from communication courses and is intended to share knowledge on the methods and techniques employed by some of the most important reports of the Brazilian press, from the choice of topic to the investigation, sources and interviews.\u00a0It will be streamed live on the internet, at the link\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvpuc.com.br\/sites\/\">www.tvpuc.com.br<\/a>. In order for the material to be accessible to the largest number of people possible, a media pool will be set up to cover and broadcast the event*.<\/p>\n<p>The Round Table Conversation will be coordinated by the journalist Sergio Gomes, director of the OBOR\u00c9 agency, coordinator of the Reporter of the Future Project and board member of the Vladimir\u00a0Herzog Institute. It will be produced by Aldo Quiroga, a teacher and reporter\/presenter for the TV Cultura television channel in S\u00e3o Paulo, and Ricardo Matias, coordinator of the TV PUC channel. This year, the conversation will be moderated by the teachers and journalists Angelina Nunes and Paulo Oliveira.\u00a0 The event has the support of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fepesp.org.br\/\">S\u00e3o Paulo State Federation of Teachers &#8211; FEPESP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inauguration of the \u201cVlado Vitorioso\u201d sculpture in Vladimir Herzog plaza<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organized by the S\u00e3o Paulo Municipal Legislature, the sculpture called Vlado Vitorioso (Victorious Vladimir), by Elifas Andreato, will be inaugurated at noon on the same day in the Vladimir Herzog Memorial Plaza, near the Legislature building in the city center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Award<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Created in 1978, the Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award for Amnesty and Human Rights was an initiative of the Herzog family, the Union of Professional Journalists of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo, the Brazilian Amnesty Committee, the Human Rights Commission of the S\u00e3o Paulo State Bar Association (OAB-SP), the Amnesty Movements, the National Federation of Journalists (FENAJ) and the Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of S\u00e3o Paulo. Its purpose is to annually recognize and reward journalists who, through their work, contribute to the promotion of human rights, citizenship and democracy, honoring prominent figures, professionals and media outlets that stand out for their defense of these fundamental values.<\/p>\n<p>The Vladimir Herzog Award is staged annually and organized by twelve organizations: the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism \u2013 ABRAJI;
