The candidates represent more than 21 courses from nearly 100 universities across the country. Applications were open throughout the month of September.\u00a0Last Saturday, October 3, in a meeting held at the S\u00e3o Paulo Union of Journalists, nearly 70 of them took a selection test to compete for one of the 20 places.<\/p>\n<p>Before the test, the students attended a master class with Jessica Carvalho Morris, executive director of Conectas, on the role of journalists today in the coverage of human rights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArticle 9 of the Code of Ethics for Brazilian journalists states that it is the duty of this profession to defend the principles expressed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The course combines the reflective practice of journalistic coverage with the theoretical knowledge of the issues that will be addressed.<\/p>\n<p>The course is one of the modules of the Reporter of the Future Project and it will benefit from the educational supervision of the journalist <a href=\"https:\/\/charleaux.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>Jo\u00e3o Paulo Charleaux<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All the activities, with the exception of the selection meeting and the workshop on study methodologies, will take place at the offices of Conectas (Av.
