The event will be broadcast starting at 10:00 a.m., Bras\u00edlia time, and at 02:00 p.m. in Geneva, broadcast live and with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/us06web.zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_L5JB7ggXR-Wefm50KWw3-Q#\/registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">registrations open to the public<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The schedule includes a discussion panel mediated by Jamil Chade, elected one of the 40 most admired journalists in Brazil and recognized twice as the best Brazilian correspondent abroad. The debate will discuss the challenges of defending rights in the face of the rise of authoritarianism in the global scenario.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the topic \u201cLight solidarity, transcend authoritarianism\u201d, the new edition of the journal is the first fully produced by guest authors. The publication contains articles, interviews and an essay that propose paths to revitalize and strengthen the human rights agenda in contexts of growing attacks against democracy. The edition is also a tribute to Pedro Paulo Poppovic, SUR\u2019s founder and its first editor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sur Journal is published by Conectas Direitos Humanos to produce, foster and spread innovative research and ideas, particularly from the Global South, on the practice of human rights. The journal has been published for 20 years and is open to access, with over 20,000 online subscriptions and present in over 100 countries.
