This Tuesday (30<\/span>th<\/span>), from 02:00 to 05:00 p.m. (Bras\u00edlia time), the International Summit \u201cStrengthening the reach and impact of human rights movements in Brazil\u201d will take place. The event, with simultaneous translation in Portuguese and Spanish, is free admission and open to the public with a prior enrollment. <\/span>Click here<\/span><\/a> to register.<\/span><\/p>\n

The agenda will be divided into three discussion panels. The opening, at 02:00 p.m., will include <\/span>D\u00e9bora Maria da Silva<\/b> (Independent Movement \u201cM\u00e3es de Maio\u201d) <\/span>Nivia do Carmo Raposo<\/b> (Movement of Mothers and Relatives of Victims of Lethal State Violence and Forced Disappearances), <\/span>Rute Silva Santos<\/b> (\u201cM\u00e3es da Periferia\u201d Movement), <\/span>Edna Carla Souza Cavalcante<\/b> (\u201cM\u00e3es do Curi\u00f3\u201d Movement), in addition to <\/span>Javier Amadeo<\/b> (CAAF\/Unifesp) and <\/span>Angela Torresan<\/b> (Manchester University).<\/span><\/p>\n

At 03:00 .m., the panel \u201cDemocracy for whom \u2013 on reparation and non-repetition\u201d will gather <\/span>Yanilda Gonz\u00e1lez <\/b>(Harvard Kennedy School), <\/span>Al\u00ed Bant\u00fa Ashanti<\/b> (Colombian Racial Justice and Historical Pact Collective) and federal congressman <\/span>Orlando Silva<\/b> (author of Bill no. 2999\/2022).<\/span><\/p>\n

Subsequently, at 04:00 p.m., the panel \u201cThe fight for Justice, Memory and Reparation in Latin America\u201d will give voice to regional experiences, with <\/span>Emilse Rueda Mar\u00edn <\/b>(Justicia por Natalia Collective, Colombia), <\/span>Cristina Bautista Salvador<\/b> (43 victims of Ayotzinapa, Mexico), <\/span>Lorenza Aillapan<\/b> (Fentxen Ma\u00f1um, Chile) and, once again, D\u00e9bora Maria da Silva (M\u00e3es de Maio). The proceedings will be concluded by <\/span>Gabriel Sampaio<\/b>, from Conectas Direitos Humanos.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event is organized by the Independent Movement \u201cM\u00e3es de Maio\u201d, Conectas Direitos Humanos, the Center for Forensic Archeology and Anthropology at Unifesp (CAAF) and Manchester University\/Granada Center for Visual Anthropology, with funding from the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
