The Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (Apib) announces the dates of Acampamento Terra Livre (ATL) 2024. The largest mobilization of the indigenous popular movement in Brazil will be held in Bras\u00edlia (DF), between the 22<\/span>nd<\/span> and 26<\/span>th<\/span> of April. This year will make it 20 years it has been contributing to the historic struggle to guarantee the rights of indigenous peoples and strengthen our country’s democracy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The expectation is that ATL 2024 will be the most participatory in the entire history of indigenous mobilizations, both in terms of number of people and representation of people. \u201cWe are building ATL 2024 programming and the mobilization theme, together with our organization Articulation of Indigenous People and Organizations of the Northeast, Minas Gerais and Esp\u00edrito Santo (Apoinme), in conjunction with the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of the Southern Region (Arpinsul), and also the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of the Southeast Region (Arpinsudeste), Guarani Yvyrupa Commission, Coordination of Indigenous Organizations of the Brazilian Amazon (Coiab), Council of the Terena People and General Assembly of the Kaiow\u00e1 and Guarani People (Aty Guasu)\u201d, states a statement from Abip.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2023, around six thousand indigenous people which consist of almost 180 people participated in the 19th edition of the ATL. \u201cThe Indigenous Future is now! Without demarcation there is no democracy!\u201d was the motto of the last mobilization, which marked the return of the demarcations of Indigenous Lands, after six years of political paralysis.
