The municipal human rights secretary,\u00a0Rog\u00e9rio Sottili, conducted the meeting and signed a decree appointing the members, among them Conectas, which works on the subject through its \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/conectas.org\/en\/actions\/business-and-human-rights\"><u>business and human rights<\/u><\/a>\u201d project.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission was instituted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leismunicipais.com.br\/a\/sp\/s\/sao-paulo\/decreto\/2013\/5443\/54432\/decreto-n-54432-2013-regulamenta-a-comissao-municipal-de-erradicacao-do-trabalho-escravo-comtrae-sp-vinculada-a-secretaria-municipal-de-direitos-humanos-e-cidadania-instituida-pelo-artigo-263-da-lei-n%C2%BA-15764-de-27-de-maio-de-2013.html\"><u>municipal government<\/u><\/a> on October 7, 2013, with the goal of uniting different sectors of society \u2013 business community, government and workers \u2013 to prevent and combat slave labor. S\u00e3o Paulo is the first city in Brazil to have a commission to eradicate this type of crime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us, the commission is another forum for action against this crime against human rights.
