The submission to the UN underscores the fact that the S\u00e3o Paulo state government has not ruled out the possibility of repeating the operation and has discredited all reports of abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe urge the Council to demand action from the Brazilian State to ensure thorough and independent investigations into all the reports of abuse and deaths caused by the police, as well as to refrain from repeating operations driven by institutional revenge rhetoric and to provide proper psychosocial support and reparation to victims and families\u201d, the organisations request in their statement.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Legal action&nbsp;<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/participamaisbrasil\/relatorio-preliminar-sobre-as-denuncias-de-violacoes-de-direitos-humanos-no-guaruja-e-demais-regioes-da-baixada-santista-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report by the National Human Rights Council<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> identified at least 11 human rights violations, including cases of execution, failure to provide assistance, raids on homes, the absence of cameras or any identification on uniforms and the deaths of homeless people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Tuesday (5), the state administration announced the conclusion of Operation Shield. On the same day, the S\u00e3o Paulo Public Defender\u00b4s Office and Conectas filed a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/conectas.org\/en\/noticias\/operation-shield-public-defenders-office-and-conectas-ask-courts-to-require-sao-paulo-state-government-to-install-cameras-on-police-officers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">class-action lawsuit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, requesting that the court compel the S\u00e3o Paulo State
