Once again, the Brazilian electoral system has proved its high standards, transparency and security, ensuring the Brazilian people can exercise popular sovereignty, through the vote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the wake of the result announced by the Superior Electoral Court, the organizations that make up Vigilance, hail Lu\u00edz In\u00e1cio Lula da Silva as the 39th President of Brazil.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moving forward, it is important to act on the lessons learned during the 2022 election process. For example, issuing free transport proved to be a fundamental move in promoting the civil right to vote, giving the electorate universal access to their polling stations. This right should be acknowledged as an important democratic victory and should be applied in future elections.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will also be important to investigate a number of reports of abuse of political power, including actions by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the possible impact of this on access to voting stations. These should be examined and, if proven, people should be held accountable and made an example of.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Vigilance completed their work, certain that Brazilian democracy has been strengthened and with the hope that the country can proceed normally following an equally democratic transition of governments.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div
