The initiative is to inform university students about this international mechanism for the assessment and promotion of human rights, in Brazil.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/conectas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Edital_Projeto_Multiplicadoras_es..docx.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>To see the public notice about the project, UPR Multipliers<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this edition, 20 students will be selected. They must be fully matriculated in a further education institution, based in the North region of the country. They will voluntarily participate in a project that simulates the UPR mechanism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The people selected will receive online training on the International System for the Protection of Human Rights and they will be taught how to replicate what they learn as well as the model of the simulation, at their educational institutions. Ideally, the simulations should take place by October 2022.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How the UPR works&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Approximately every four and a half years, all 193 United Nations member states are questioned on the measures they have adopted to tackle human rights violations in their countries. The UPR takes place at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, in Switzerland. It is a kind of accountability report in the area of human rights.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In November 2022, Brazil will undergo its fourth review since the UPR was set up in 2006.
