The document by the United Nations has also asked the government to outline anti-corruption legislation in force in the country.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>&gt;&gt;&gt;&nbsp;<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/tbinternet.ohchr.org\/Treaties\/CCPR\/Shared%20Documents\/BRA\/CCPR_C_BRA_Q_3_48384_E.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Read the letter sent to Brazil (in English)<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/noticias.uol.com.br\/colunas\/jamil-chade\/2022\/04\/16\/onu-pede-explicacao-por-ameacas-a-democracia-e-direitos-humanos-no-brasil.htm?cmpid=copiaecola\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UOL Portal<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the federal government had already submitted a bulletin on the situation in the country to the Committee, but the document only covered human rights activities in the country up to 2018, which was before the beginning of the Bolsonaro administration. The document by the UN organ requests information about Brazil\u00b4s activities in several areas that have been subject to attacks and dismantling in recent years, as denounced, at various moments, by Brazilian civil society. These include gender equality and violence against women, the right to life, combatting torture, the rights of people deprived of liberty, combatting labour analogous to slavery, migrant and refugee rights, the right to privacy, freedom of expression and defending human rights activists.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conectas sent reports to the UN Human Rights Committee and these contributed to the organ\u00b4s current request. In the documents sent by Conectas, issue is taken over violations in the following areas: slave labour, the migration issue, institutional violence, indigenous people, human rights defenders and civic
