Journalists, illustrators and press photographers from across Brazil have until August 6 to submit their work and compete in the\u00a0<\/span>42nd Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award for Amnesty and Human Rights<\/b>. Considered one of Brazil\u2019s leading journalistic distinctions, the Vladimir Herzog Award is a nationwide and annual prize that recognizes reporting work that enhances Democracy and Human Rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

To enter, candidates must access the website of the Award<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, fill out the registration form and attach their work that was published or broadcast between July 21, 2019 and July 31, 2020. This year, journalistic work will be accepted in SIX categories:<\/span><\/p>\n

1) Art<\/b> \u2013 illustrations, caricatures and cartoons published in print or electronic media<\/span>
\n<\/span>2) Photography<\/b> \u2013 Photograph or photographic series published in print or electronic media<\/span>
\n<\/span>3) Written journalism<\/b> \u2013 Articles published in print or electronic media<\/span>
\n<\/span>4) Audio journalism<\/b> \u2013 Audio reports or documentaries<\/span>
\n<\/span>5) Video journalism<\/b> \u2013 Video reports or documentaries<\/span>
\n<\/span>6) Multimedia journalism<\/b> \u2013 Multimedia reports published on the internet<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>42nd<\/b> Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award for Amnesty and Human Rights<\/b> is staged and organized by a commission formed by the following institutions: the National Federation of Journalists \u2013 FENAJ; the Union of Professional Journalists of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo; the Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of S\u00e3o Paulo; the Brazilian Press Association \u2013 ABI; the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism \u2013 ABRAJI; the United Nations Information Center in Brazil \u2013 UNIC Rio; the Periferia em Movimento communication group; the School of Communication and Art of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 ECA\/USP; the Vladimir\u00a0Herzog Institute; the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association; the S\u00e3o Paulo Chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association; Conectas Human Rights; the S\u00e3o Paulo State Police Ombudsman\u2019s Office; and the Brazilian Association of Interdisciplinary Studies on Communication \u2013 Intercom.<\/span><\/p>\n
