Journalists, artists and photographic reporters from all over Brazil have until 20 July to submit their work, to compete for the <\/span>41st Edition of the Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award for Amnesty and Human Rights<\/b>. The Vladimir Herzog Award is nationwide and is considered to be one of the most important journalism prizes in the country. Every year it acknowledges work that enhances democracy and human rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

In order to compete, candidates should go to the<\/span> award site<\/span>, fill in the application form and attach work that has been published or broadcast in the period between (and including) 24 July 2018 and 20 July 2019. In this edition, journalism work submitted under the following SIX categories will be accepted:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a01) Art <\/b>\u2013 illustrations, editorial cartoons, cartoons, caricatures and cartoon strips published either in print or online<\/span><\/p>\n

2) Photography<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Photographs or a series of photographs published in print or online<\/span><\/p>\n

3) Text journalism<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Reports or published text in print or online<\/span><\/p>\n

4) Audio journalism<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Audio report or documentary<\/span><\/p>\n

5) Video journalism<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Video report or documentary<\/span><\/p>\n

6) Multimedia journalism<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 \u00a0Multimedia reports published on the internet<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>41st Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award for Amnesty and Human Rights<\/b>\u00a0is promoted and organised by a committee made up of the following institutions: FENAJ (National Federation of Journalists; Union of Professional Journalists of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo; Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of S\u00e3o Paulo; ABRAJI (Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism; UNIC Rio (United Nations Information Centre in Brazil; Periferia em Movimento collective; ECA\/USP (School of Communication and Art at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo); Vladimir Herzog Institute; Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association; S\u00e3o Paulo Chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association; Conectas Human Rights; S\u00e3o Paulo State Police Ombudsman\u2019s Office and Intercom (Brazilian Association of Interdisciplinary Studies on Communication).<\/span><\/p>\n
