Registration is open for the\u00a040th edition of the Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award for Amnesty and Human Rights<\/strong>. This is currently the most important award in this area, in the country. Journalists working in television, radio, internet and the press, sketch artists and photographic reporters have until 23 July<\/u>\u00a0to submit their work.<\/p>\n

The Vladimir Herzog Award is nationwide and in 2018 completes 40 years. Every year it recognises work that enhances democracy and human rights.<\/p>\n

In order to compete, candidates should register via the site\u00a0www.premiovladimirherzog.org<\/a><\/u>, completing the form and attaching their work which must have been published in the period 1 August 2017 to 23 July 2018 (including these dates). In this edition, journalism in the following SIX categories will be accepted:<\/p>\n

1) Art<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 illustrations, cartoons, editorial cartoons, cartoon strips and caricatures published either in print or online
\n2) Photography<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Photo or series of photos published either in print or online
\n3) Text journalism<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Report of published text in print or online
\n4) Audio journalism<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Audio report or documentary
\n5) Video journalism<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Video report or documentary
\n6) Multimedia journalism\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Multimedia reports published on the internet<\/p>\n

The 40th Vladimir Herzog Journalism Award for Amnesty and Human Rights is staged and organised by a committee made up of the following institutions: FENAJ (National Federation of Journalists; Union of Professional Journalists of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo; Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of S\u00e3o Paulo; ABRAJI (Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism; UNIC Rio (United Nations Information Centre in Brazil; Periferia em Movimento collective; ECA\/USP (School of Communication and Art at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo); Vladimir Herzog Institute; Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association; S\u00e3o Paulo Chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association; Conectas Human Rights; S\u00e3o Paulo State Police Ombudsman\u2019s Office and Intercom (Brazilian Association of Interdisciplinary Studies on Communication).<\/p>\n
