The debate will bring together a group of inter-regional States, the OHCHR (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights) and international civil society organizations to discuss opportunities and priorities to strengthen the real impact of the Council.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was organized by Amnesty International, the International Service for Human Rights and Human Rights Watch, with the support of the governments of Canada, the United Kingdom and Uruguay. Conectas was invited to take part in the discussion and is in Geneva attending the meeting that will last all day.<\/p>\n<p>The United Nations Human Rights Council is extremely important for the prevention and monitoring of violations and abuses. But it is also vital for the Council to be able to support the implementation of commitments and obligations, contribute to the accountability of perpetrators and improve access to remedies and
