{"id":7916,"date":"2017-11-21T17:55:58","date_gmt":"2017-11-21T17:55:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.conectas.org\/wp\/?post_type=acao&#038;p=7916"},"modified":"2017-12-13T19:21:38","modified_gmt":"2017-12-13T19:21:38","slug":"revista-sur","status":"publish","type":"acao","link":"https:\/\/conectas.org\/en\/acoes\/revista-sur\/","title":"SUR Journal","content":"<div class=\"tts_content_wrapper_1\" ><h2>The\u00a0<strong>objective<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0<strong>Sur International Journal on Human<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Rights\u00a0<\/strong>is to influence the global human rights agenda by producing, fostering and disseminating innovative research and ideas, primarily from the Global South, on human rights practice.<\/h2>\n<p>Sur is an open access journal, and has an online and print readership of over 6,000 people in more than 100 countries.<\/p>\n<p>First published 11 years ago in order to deepen and strengthen ties between academics and activists from the Global South and to increase their participation in the global debate, Sur Journal has continuously evolved.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, to mark its 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary, the Journal published a landmark\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/conectas.org\/en\/actions\/sur-journal\/issue\/20\">20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0issue<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 bringing together more than 50 leading scholars and activists from 18 countries \u2013 to reflect on the new direction of the international human rights movement.<\/p>\n<p>For Conectas, the 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0issue of Sur Journal served not only as an opportunity to rethink the pillars of the movement that we are part of, but specifically it allowed us to reconsider the role of Sur Journal in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>Sur Journal would not have been possible without the initial support and the material contributions of the United Nations Foundation and the Ford Foundation. We would also like to thank Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Carlos Chagas for its generous support until the 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0issue of the Journal.
