Symposium in Belém to discuss reception of refugees and migrants in Pará

On 25 July, in Belém (Pará), The Rede de Capacitação a Refugiados e Migrantes (Training network for Refugees and Migrants), in which Conectas participates, is holding the symposium “Refugees and Migrants in Pará: how to receive and integrate?” The meeting is free and open to the public. Among those participating in the event are members of refugee and migrant committees, reception committees, working groups on employability, shelter managers and team workers, civil servants, civil society organisations involved in the reception, shelter and integration of refugees, as well as journalists and students.

The focus of the debate is to discuss the need to establish a local integration policy for refugees and migrants and to train those involved in receiving, integrating and internalising refugees and migrants in Brazil. Interested parties should register by 12 o’clock on 20 July, using the link “Registration and Results” on the site  http://escola.mpu.mp.br. There are 75 seats available and selection will be by electronic draw.
