Student movement is topic of Cine Direitos Humanos

Session this Wednesday, February 19, screens the film “Espero tua (re)volta” on the student occupations of 2015

The student movement will be the subject of debate at the next session of Cine Direitos Humanos this Wednesday, February 19, at 7 pm at Sesc 24 de Maio.

The documentary “Espero tua (re)volta” (Your Turn), directed by the filmmaker Eliza Capai, gives an overview of the various student groups that gained prominence starting in 2015, when they occupied state schools across Brazil.

Full of archive footage of street demonstrations staged since 2013, the film accompanies three young people in an attempt to understand the main concerns of students from the perspective of the young people themselves.

After the film, there will be a discussion with the activist Andreza Delgado.

The event is free and no prior booking is needed. Come along!
