With its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the Council meets at least three times a year (usually in March, June and September), during thematic sessions, and may also conduct special sessions to discuss urgent matter, sometimes. Conectas has consultative status within the body, one of the main forms of formal access by entities to the United Nations system.
