Ideas for a better world

Registration is now open for 3rd Human Rights Fair staged by Conectas

Registration is open until November 20 for the 3rd edition of the Ideas Fair organized by Conectas in commemoration of International Human Rights Day. Students, researchers, journalists and social groups and movements will have the opportunity to display their research and journalistic and artistic projects that promote civic awareness and human rights and denounce violations in Brazil and the world.

In this edition, thanks to the financial support of the Dutch Embassy, four exhibitors will be selected to receive a grant of up to R$1,000 to help cover the costs of transport and accommodation, especially for candidates who live outside the city of São Paulo.

The Fair will take place on Monday, December 11, at 7 pm, in the offices of Conectas in São Paulo. The goal of the event is to promote and strengthen the struggle for the defense of fundamental rights through a big gathering of people who work with or who are interested in the field.

The list of the 20 selected projects will be published on November 27.

“It is evident that hate speech has been gaining increasingly more space in the public debate. And this is occurring in an alarming political climate in which serious setbacks have become commonplace. As a result, I believe it is our role to unite people and professionals with interests in common and to value the work that is being done to change this situation,” said Juana Kweitel, executive director of Conectas.
