Film about LGBT+ movement outskirts opens Cine Direitos Humanos

Screened at the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival in 2019, the documentary “Favela Gay” will be shown on Wednesday the 29th at Sesc 24 de Maio



On Wednesday, January 29, the project Cine Direitos Humanos, organized by Conectas in partnership with Sesc 24 de Maio, will screen the documentary “Favela Gay” directed by Rodrigo Felha and produced by Luz Mágica in partnership with Rio Filmes and Canal Brasil.

The documentary, screened at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival in 2019, gives an overview of the reality of the LGBT+ community from the perspective of gays, lesbians, transvestites and transexuals in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas.

At the screening to be given at Sesc, the singer Mc Mano Feu who wrote the funk song “Lésbico e LGBTI” and Gux Trava of the band Crash Party will participate in a chat with the public after the documentary has been shown. 

The film showings are free and no prior booking is needed. Entry, however, is subject to capacity.

Cine Direitos Humanos occurs every last Wednesday of the month and includes a debate between the actors, directors and experts after the screening.
