On November 6th, Conectas Direitos Humanos will hold a summit at SESC Paulsita with experts in public security and technology. The event will begin at 07:30 p.m. and gather researchers in the subject to talk about the implications and challenges that the use of advanced technologies in the area of public security brings to human rights. During the activity, topics such as vigilantism, facial recognition and racial profiling will be discussed. The discussion is open to the public and free to attend.
Speakers at the event include Samira Bueno, Chief Executive Officer of the Fórum Brasileiro de Segurança Pública NGO; Vinicius da Silva, researcher at Data Privacy Brasil; Daniel Mello, journalist and documentary maker; and Acácio Augusto, coordinator and professor in the international relations program at UNIFESP. After the participants speak, there will be an interactive question and answer session with the public.
