On Thursday (27th October), Conectas Human Rights and Instituto Marielle Franco, with the support of iCS (Instituto Clima e Sociedade), hold a preparatory event for COP27 (UN Conference on Climate Change), focusing on the best approach to human rights in order to drive climate into action. COP27 will be held in Egypt from the 6th to the 18th of November. The conference is an annual decision-making meeting related to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
This same event will be mediated by Gabriel Mantelli; advisor for Conectas’ Social and Environmental Rights Defense program, and Anne Heloise; advisor for Climate Justice at the Marielle Franco Institute. The discussion panel will also include: Lien Vandamme; a lawyer at CIEL (Center for International Environmental Law), Ellen Monielle; research associate at the Iyaletá Institute and Carol Baracho; from Instituto Perifa Sustentável.
