On Wednesday 30 October, the project Cine Direitos Humanos, hosted by Conectas in conjunction with Sesc 24 de Maio, is showing “Auto de Resistência”, by Natasha Neri and Lula Carvalho.
The film was awarded best full-length documentary by judges at the International Festival, É Tudo Verdade.
The full-length film accompanies the stories of people who deal with police violence in Rio de Janeiro in their daily lives and shows how the state handles these cases, from the time a person is killed, throughout police investigations and up to the time when the case is either filed or sent for trial by jury.
Débora Silva will be our guest at the discussion on the theme. She is a founder member of the May Mothers movement.
The film showings are free and no prior booking is needed, although there are a limited number of seats available.
Cine Direitos Humanos is held every last Wednesday of the month and includes discussions between actors, directors and experts after the screening.
