Brazil’s implementation of the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights recommendations is the theme of a parallel event to be held on the margins of the 38th session of the Human Rights Council, in Geneva, Switzerland.
The event is to discuss how government and businesses are implementing recommendations made following the official visit to Brazil in 2015. Conectas will be presenting a report at the event, on its assessment of national initiatives being developed in four areas: legislation, public policy, case studies and corporate policies and practices.
Among those participating in the event are Caio Borges, Coordinator of the Conectas Development and Socioenvironmental Rights programme, Letícia Aleixo, Coordinator of the Federal University of Minas Gerais Human Rights Think Tank and Anita Ramasastry, Chair of the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights.
